Clinical Interests
Since qualifying with an MSc in physiotherapy, Carol has gained experience working in the private, sporting and public sector. Carol currently splits her time working in CSPC physiotherapy and as a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in Bradford NHS. Working in both settings has allowed Carol to gain a broad range of expertise in rehabilitation, biomechanical assessment and injury prevention.
Carol has a keen interest in working with both professional athletes and the general public who are motivated to succeed in their current sport. This includes treating the injury itself with appropriate clinical diagnosis, addressing strength imbalances, appropriate hands-on treatmentsand also talking into consideration other factors that may be contributing to someone’s issues including training intensity and volume, recover strategies and overall life stresses. Carol has a keen interest in treating over use injuries including tendinopathies and stress fractures.
Carol has worked in professional sport for the past 6 years. This has included working as a physiotherapist for Barnsley FC, GB talent hub (middle distance and endurance athletes), Gaelic Football, Rugby, triathlon, swimming, CrossFit and strongman athletes. Carol worked closely with the coaching teams to help ensure optimal performance.
Through Bradford teaching hospitals Carol works along side orthopaedic consultants, specialising in lower limb injuries and provides treatment to patients with complex musculoskeletal presentations. Carol also has an active interest in research and develops evidenced based protocols. Carol is also undertaking a masters in musculoskeletal physiotherapy through the University of Bradford.
Carol is a keen runner and footballer. She also enjoys cycling, going to the gym and has a big interest in music playing the guitar and piano.
