Brian qualified as a chartered Physiotherapist from the Northumbria University at Newcastle-upon-Tyne and has been building knowledge and expertise for the last 18 years.
He has completed a wide and extensive variety of post graduate training courses over the years, including a Post Graduate certificate in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy rehabilitation from Bradford University.
Brian comes to the CSPC team with a wealth of experience from both the NHS and private practice and has worked solely with people suffering with musculoskeletal problems for the last 15 years. Brian works with a massively diverse set of clients ranging from high level athletes to people who just enjoy being active, to everything in between.
Brian is a registered McKenzie MDT credentialed therapist and uses this very effective and specific way of assessing and treating both acute and chronic spinal pain. He is also a qualified acupuncturist and incorporates this skill when necessary in combination with manual hands on treatments and exercise rehabilitation.
Pilates is also a major part of Brian’s philosophy having completed the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institutes Matwork courses Levels 1, 2 & 3. Pilates can greatly help improve both acute & long term problems and provides a corner stone of many rehabilitation programmes. This approach works well in combination with myofascial release and muscle energy technique treatments which Brian has an increasing interest in.
In his younger days Brian has experienced the highs and lows of competitive sporting life as a Sprinter and lots of varied sports since then including rock climbing and more recently the world of sprint distance Triathlon. His children now introduce him to many new sports as they grow.
